Law Minister Aleixo Sequeira said the government is taking action in cases where residence certificates have been issued based on bogus documents.

While speaking to media persons in Betalbatim, Sequeira pointed out that First Information Report (FIRs) have been filed and that he had held a review in connection with one particular case at the Fatorda Police station. He however admitted that the police are acting a bit slow when pointed out that the South Goa Advocate Association had also filed complaints in this regard about forged residence certificates being used for the purpose of registration of marriages at the Salcete Sub-Registrar.
