Goa, April 10 -- Over 60 Goans residing in the UK gathered at Westminster Palace on Tuesday to celebrate the significant contributions of the Goan community to British society. The event, titled Recognition of the UK Goan Diaspora, was organized by Swindon Labour MPs Heidi Alexander and Will Stone, alongside Swindon's first Goan mayor, Imtiaz Shaikh, and his wife, councillor Adorabelle Shaikh.
The event brought together Goans from Swindon, Wembley, Southall, Hayes, and various parts of London, acknowledging their achievements in diverse sectors such as the armed forces, healthcare, engineering, law enforcement, business, the corporate sector, and hospitality.
