Goa, July 25 -- In a bid to curb public smoking and the sale of tobacco products in restricted zones, GOACAN (Goa Civic and Consumer Action Network) conducted a COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) enforcement drive near the Vasco Railway Station.
The initiative focused on raising awareness and ensuring compliance with COTPA regulations, particularly in public areas where smoking and tobacco sales are strictly prohibited.
GOACAN representatives stated that the drive aimed to promote public health and encourage responsible behaviour, while also urging authorities to strengthen enforcement around transport hubs and other public spaces.
