Goa, May 8 -- A woman from Carmona has filed a police complaint after being defrauded of Rs.4.5 lakh by a man who allegedly posed as an officer from the Delhi Police. According to the complaint lodged at the Colva Police Station, the accused contacted the woman through a WhatsApp video call and falsely claimed that she was involved in a money laundering investigation.
During the call, the impersonator reportedly pressured the woman into transferring Rs.4,50,000 to a bank account, supposedly to resolve the issue and avoid legal trouble. The victim later realized she had been duped and approached the police for help.
The Colva Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities have not yet disclosed...
