Goa, July 10 -- Goa University has launched an internal inquiry into the recent incident involving a male student parading in underwear during a cultural festival, sources from the university confirmed on Thursday.
The matter, which has drawn public criticism and the attention of the Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC), is expected to be placed before the University's Executive Council for review and further action.
University sources said the administration is treating the issue with seriousness, and the outcome of the inquiry will guide any disciplinary proceedings. The GHRC has already taken suo motu cognisance of the incident following a media report, and has directed the Vice Chancellor to submit a detailed response by July 23.
