Goa, Aug. 18 -- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed concern on Monday about the rising number of unfilled engineering seats in the state, holding teachers accountable for not guiding students toward competitive exams.
"In the last two to four years, around 30 per cent of engineering seats have gone vacant. It's the responsibility of teachers to make students aware of exams like JEE and NEET. Students cannot be blamed if they are unaware," Sawant stated.
He noted that despite half the seats in IITs and NITs being earmarked for Goan students, few have opted for them. "I cannot understand why these seats are left unfilled," the Chief Minister added.
