Goa, May 13 -- Goa is set to launch its first-ever comprehensive survey of persons with disabilities (PwDs), as announced by Subhash Phaldesai, Minister of Social Welfare, River Navigation, Archives, and Archeology. The survey aims to establish an updated and detailed database covering all 21 categories of disabilities as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, replacing the outdated 2011 census data. With the use of over 100 assessment parameters and geo-tagging technology, the survey will assist the government in designing targeted welfare schemes and improving service delivery for PwDs across the state.
