Goa, Nov. 5 -- The Directorate of Mines and Geology will auction 10 iron ore mining dumps, with a total quantity of 22 million tonnes, in the first week of January 2026, announced Director Narayan Gad. The dumps are located on private lands, and conversion fees for these sites have not yet been paid, he added.

Providing an update on ongoing mining activities, Gad said that Rajaram Bandekar Mines at Sirigao and the JSW-owned Cudnem mineral block have commenced operations from October.

So far, five out of the 12 auctioned mineral blocks in Goa have begun operations, with a combined production capacity of 5.3 million tonnes, according to the Directorate.
