Goa, May 26 -- Trawling fishermen across Goa have united in a rare show of solidarity to demand a complete ban on LED light fishing along the state's coastline. This method, which uses powerful LED lights to attract fish at night, has raised serious concerns among traditional fishing communities, marine conservationists, and authorities. Fishermen argue that LED fishing is highly harmful, disrupting the natural behavior of marine life, causing indiscriminate catches-including juvenile fish-and threatening the sustainability of fish stocks in Goan waters.
