Goa, July 16 -- In a moment of pride for Goa, 26-year-old Dr Tejas Kovlekar from Ponda has been commissioned as a Captain in the Indian Army's prestigious Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC). With this achievement, he becomes only the fifth Goan ever to be selected for this elite unit and is currently one of just three Goans actively serving in the specialised branch.
Captain Tejas is now posted in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, where he serves as a Class One Gazetted Officer. In his role, he is entrusted with the medical care, management, and training of the Indian Army's service animals.
