Goa, Dec. 4 -- Goa recorded more than 5,200 new cancer cases in the last three years, with the Centre informing Parliament that the State's caseload has risen steadily and aligns with the country's broader increase in cancer incidence.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav stated that Goa registered 1,700 cases in 2022, 1,735 in 2023, and 1,783 in 2024, bringing the total to 5,218 diagnoses. Though far lower in absolute numbers than larger States, the pattern confirms that Goa is not insulated from the trends driving India's growing cancer burden.
