Goa, Oct. 30 -- Goa has wit nessed a steady rise in di vorce petitions over the past four years, underscor ing growing marital discord and changing social pat terns across the State. Court records show that between 2022 and mid-2025, almost 3,000 couples have sought legal separation, with both districts registering consist ent increases. In North Goa, the number of petitions has risen each year - from around 310 in 2022 to 368 in 2023 and 415 in 2024. More than 200 cases have already been filed in the first half of 2025, suggesting the upward trend will continue.
