Goa, Nov. 5 -- Goa has experienced an unusually wet post-monsoon season this year, recording 465.9 mm of rainfall between October 1 and November 4, which is 2.6 times higher than the normal average of 189.6 mm, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for Thursday, forecasting light to moderate rain and thundershowers across the state. Meteorologists attribute the excess rainfall to persistent weather systems over the Arabian Sea and the Konkan coast, which have kept monsoon-like conditions active well into November.

Authorities have urged residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
