Goa, Oct. 17 -- Goa has secured a spot among the top three states in the State Mining Readiness Index (Category B), according to a recent report released by the Ministry of Mines. The other two states in the top tier are Uttar Pradesh and Assam.
The ranking highlights Goa's preparedness and regulatory efficiency in the mining sector, reflecting the state's efforts to promote responsible and sustainable mining practices.
Officials noted that the recognition underscores Goa's commitment to balancing economic growth with environmental safeguards in its mining industry, which remains a significant contributor to the state's economy.
