Goa, Sept. 2 -- The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has announced the commencement of collection of Ganesh idols that surfaced following the Ganesh Visarjan celebrations. The idols will be transported to the board's facility in Pissurlem for eco-friendly disposal and management.
The initiative aims to prevent water pollution and ensure that the immersion of idols does not harm local water bodies. Citizens are requested to hand over the idols to authorized collection points or GSPCB personnel to facilitate proper handling.
This move is part of Goa's ongoing efforts to promote sustainable celebrations and environmental conservation during festivals.
