Goa, May 8 -- Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar on Thursday confirmed that police presence has been significantly increased across Goa, including heightened security in touristic zones and vulnerable locations.
Speaking to the media at Mantralaya in Porvorim, DGP Kumar stated that mock drills have recently been conducted in both North and South Goa, with active police participation to ensure readiness. "Security measures have been intensified both during the day and night," he added.
The DGP said the stepped-up vigilance comes following instructions from Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, particularly aimed at improving safety in high-traffic tourist areas.
