Goa, Nov. 4 -- In a noteworthy initiative, the Goa Police have successfully returned 55 recovered mobile phones, including several high-end models valued at nearly Rs.13 lakh, to their rightful owners.
The recovery was made possible through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal - a national system designed to trace and block lost or stolen mobile devices.
Speaking about the operation, North Goa Superintendent of Police Rahul Gupta said, "Whenever we receive a complaint, we immediately upload the device details to the CEIR portal, which helps us track and locate the phones."
