Goa, March 24 -- In a sharp critique of the current government, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Yuri Alemao has accused the state government of threatening democracy in Goa, claiming that the Speaker, who should be a neutral custodian of the assembly, is failing in their duties. Alemao emphasized that the Speaker must maintain neutrality, but instead, the current situation reflects a "pot of corruption".

Alemao's comments came amid growing concerns over the lack of discussion on critical issues in the Goa assembly. He further asserted that the government does not want to address fresh and pressing matters in the legislature, accusing it of stifling debate and hindering democratic processes.
