Goa, Jan. 10 -- Goa is experiencing a sharp increase in chicken and egg prices across markets, driven by reduced supply, rising poultry feed costs, and unfavourable weather conditions. The price surge has come unexpectedly, going against the usual trend of stabilisation after the festive season.

In Colva, chicken is being sold at around Rs 200 per kg, while a dozen eggs costs about Rs 100. Similar rates are reported in Panaji, where chicken is priced at approximately Rs 190 per kg and eggs at Rs 95 per dozen. The increase has made poultry products significantly more expensive for households across the state.
