Goa, July 24 -- A total of ten casinos in Goa, both onshore and offshore have defaulted on payments totaling INR 352.44 crore, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday through a written reply. The outstanding dues include Annual Recurring Fees and COVID-19-related liabilities.
Goa currently has 24 licensed casinos, comprising 18 onshore and 6 offshore establishments. Among the onshore casinos, nine have pending dues, although three of them are not currently operational. Only one of the six offshore casinos has outstanding payments. Additionally, six other onshore casinos have either had their licences revoked or are not in operation at the moment.
