Goa, May 30 -- The Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the Goa government against a High Court order that read down Section 17(2) of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act is likely to be listed for hearing before Court 3 of the Supreme Court this Friday.

In its petition, the state government has argued that the High Court exceeded its jurisdiction by interfering with the legislative domain. The government maintains that the court's interpretation of Section 17(2) amounts to a transgression of the powers constitutionally vested in the legislature.
