Goa, Oct. 8 -- The Goa government has appointed young farmer Varad Samant from Dabal village in Dharbandora as the state's Agriculture Ambassador to promote self-reliance in vegetable cultivation under the Swayampurna Goa mission.
Samant's appointment aims to inspire farmers across the state to adopt sustainable agricultural practices and reduce dependence on imported produce. As an active farmer known for his innovative methods, he is expected to play a key role in motivating local youth to take up farming as a viable livelihood.
Officials said the initiative aligns with the government's broader vision to strengthen local food production and achieve agricultural self-sufficiency in Goa.
