Goa, Oct. 30 -- The Goa govern ment on Wednesday an nounced a compensation of Rs 40,000 per hectare for farmers who suffered crop losses due to the in cessant rains over the past few days. The Chief Minister said the compensation will be provided under the State Scheme - Shetkari Aadhar Nidhi, with farmers eligi ble to receive up to Rs 1.6 lakh for a maximum of four hectares. "The compensa tion will be disbursed by December 2025," he an nounced. Farmers across the state have faced significant loss es as continuous rainfall prevented them from har vesting their crops, leaving large tracts of farmland wa terlogged and damaged.
