Goa, May 27 -- A group of concerned villagers from Bhoma met with Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai, seeking his support against the proposed expansion of National Highway 4A, which they fear will lead to the demolition of centuries-old temples. The historic Sateri and Mahadev temples, deeply revered by the Bahujan Samaj, are among the religious sites under threat.
Sardesai strongly criticized the BJP-led state government, accusing it of sacrificing Goa's cultural and spiritual heritage for misguided development. He disclosed that he had personally requested Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to explore an alternative highway alignment that would protect these temples.
