Goa, Nov. 7 -- In a move to enhance the state's emergency response capacity, the Goa Fire and Emergency Services has inducted six new fire tenders worth over Rs.6 crore into its fleet.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant flagged off the newly procured vehicles, which will replace older, condemned units that had been in service for several years.

According to officials, the new fire tenders will be deployed at Valpoi, Bicholim, Pernem, Mapusa, Old Goa, and the department's Headquarters, ensuring wider coverage and improved readiness to tackle fire-related emergencies.

The addition of these modern vehicles is expected to significantly strengthen firefighting infrastructure across Goa, enabling faster and more efficient response during crises. ...
