Goa, April 23 -- A surprise inspection by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) team in Goa led to the shutdown of a bakery and sweet manufacturing unit operating under unhygienic conditions in Gausa Waddo. The inspection team, comprising Richard Noronha, Amit Mandrekar, and Lenin De Sa, visited three food production units as part of a routine check.

One of the inspected units was found to be violating basic hygiene protocols and food safety standards. The FDA immediately ordered the cessation of operations at the site and initiated action under Section 69 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
