Goa, Aug. 30 -- Goa's farmers will now receive unprecedented support to embrace green farming, with the state government announcing subsidies of up to 90% on biogas units, composting setups, and soil improvement inputs.

Introduced under the Development of Manures & Fertilisers initiative, the scheme aims to cut down on chemical fertilisers while enhancing soil health and sustainability. Biogas installations will be supported with a 90% subsidy on costs, while repairs after six years will receive a 20% subsidy. Farmers can also claim up to three subsidised vermi-beds or portable manure units at 90% support.
