Goa, Sept. 6 -- A sessions court in Goa has granted permission to Sukhwinder Singh, an accused in the murder case of Haryana BJP leader and actor Sonali Phogat, to travel abroad. Singh had requested to visit Indonesia for two weeks to celebrate his wife's birthday.
Phogat, who arrived in Goa on August 22, 2022, was found dead the following morning at St Anthony's Hospital in Anjuna. The case, initially registered as an "unnatural death," was later reclassified as a murder. Police and later the CBI found that Phogat died after consuming MDMA, allegedly administered by Singh and Phogat's personal assistant, Sudhir Sangvan, during a nightclub party.
