Goa, Aug. 17 -- Amit Patkar, Goa Congress chief, has refuted claims by NSUI state president Naushad Chowdhari that he assaulted him, insisting that the matter has been resolved.

Chowdhari had lodged a complaint with NSUI national president Varun Choudhary, alleging that Patkar verbally abused and pushed him at the Panaji Congress office on Thursday during a protest related to "vote theft."

Addressing the media, Patkar said, "The matter is settled. Naushad is like a child to us. The allegations are completely false." He further claimed the BJP was using the complaint to divert attention from the Congress's campaign against vote fraud.
