India, Feb. 6 -- Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Amit Patkar on Thursday referred to Quepem Congress MLA Altone D'Costa as his "elder brother," underscoring unity within the party following recent remarks on alliance politics.
Patkar's statement came after D'Costa had recently said that Amit Patkar should first contest and win an election, after which he would understand the importance of alliance politics. Responding to this, Patkar said he takes D'Costa's advice seriously and respects his experience.
Taking a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Patkar said the party has been rejected by the people of Goa, as reflected in the results of the recent Zilla Parishad (ZP) elections.
