Goa, Sept. 19 -- Chief Minister of Goa has raised alarm over the rapid depletion and pollution of groundwater in the state, emphasizing that human activities are the primary cause.

Speaking on the issue, the CM highlighted that indiscriminate disposal of garbage, sewage, and plastic into water bodies is contaminating the state's water sources. "Today, even fish are found to contain plastic," he said, underlining the severity of the problem.

The CM stressed that preventing water pollution is now a critical priority to protect both public health and the environment. Authorities are being urged to implement stricter measures to curb the contamination of rivers, lakes, and groundwater across Goa.
