Goa, Dec. 31 -- Goa Chief Minister has announced the formation of the state's third district, which will be named Kushavati. With the creation of the new district, a separate Zilla Panchayat (ZP) will also be established.

The Chief Minister added that the process will soon include the appointment of a Third ZP Adhyaksh, marking a significant administrative restructuring for the state.

The new district is expected to streamline governance and improve local administration, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions that fall under its jurisdiction. Further details on boundaries and operational timelines are expected to be released in the coming days.
