Goa, Nov. 30 -- Goa Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) IAS Sanjay Goel emphasised that individuals who have obtained a Portuguese passport must officially declare their foreign citizenship, as hiding it is treated as a criminal offence under Indian law. He explained that once a person acquires any foreign citizenship, including Portuguese nationality, they automatically lose their Indian citizenship, which means their names must be removed from the electoral roll.
