Goa, Aug. 1 -- The Goa Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed the Goa Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025, paving the way for the regularisation of unauthorised homes built on government land before a specified cutoff date.
Under the provisions of the amended law, residential structures built on government land - up to a maximum plot size of 400 square metres - will be eligible for legalisation. However, the bill specifically excludes properties located within forest areas, Coastal Regulation Zones (CRZs), and other notified eco-sensitive zones.
Applicants seeking regularisation will be given a six-month window to submit their applications, as per the bill.
