Goa, Jan. 11 -- Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai on Sunday claimed that the Goa Assembly elections could be held as early as December 2026, instead of 2027. While the state polls are officially scheduled for 2027, Sardesai said the ongoing all-India census could alter the timeline. He explained that the census is being conducted in two phases, with one phase already underway this year, which may push election authorities to consider advancing state elections. According to him, Goa could see polls earlier than expected due to these administrative factors.
