Goa, May 28 -- The Goa Government has officially announced the annual fishing ban, which will be in effect from June 1 to July 31, covering the entire sea coast and territorial waters of the state.

The two-month ban is implemented each year to allow for the breeding and replenishment of marine life, ensuring long-term sustainability of fish stocks.

The restriction applies to all mechanized and motorized fishing vessels operating in Goan waters. Traditional fishing methods using non-motorized boats may be permitted under certain conditions, as outlined by the fisheries department.
