Goa, Dec. 23 -- BJP spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar has strongly criticised Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai for claiming a "moral victory" in the recently concluded Zilla Parishad elections, despite the party securing just one seat out of 50.
Reacting to Sardesai's remarks, Vernekar said that portraying such a result as a moral win reflected denial rather than political courage. He alleged that a significant portion of the votes polled by the GFP-backed candidate came due to support from its Congress alliance, rather than the party's independent strength.
