Goa, July 10 -- The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has suspended two of its field managers pending inquiry-one over alleged conflict of interest and the other for failing to ensure quality control in road construction.

Field Manager Vivesh Tuenkar, attached to the GIDC head office, is facing charges under the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules after it emerged that his family member had participated in, and won, a Corporation tender. The contract was reportedly awarded to Vivesh Construction, a firm owned by Tuenkar's mother, for the construction of a road at the Honda-Sattari industrial estate.
