Goa, July 10 -- The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of a report published in O Heraldo titled "Male students parade in underwear at culture fest", dated July 10.

Acting on the media report, the Commission has directed the Vice Chancellor of Goa University to submit a detailed report or reply on the incident by July 23.

The incident, which allegedly took place during a university cultural event, has sparked public outrage and raised concerns about student dignity and institutional oversight. GHRC's intervention aims to determine whether any human rights violations occurred and if appropriate action was taken by the university authorities.
