Goa, July 26 -- In a serious breach of public safety and law enforcement, the Colva police have arrested five domestic tourists from Tamil Nadu for allegedly assaulting and obstructing tourist police personnel at Colva beach. The incident occurred after the group attempted to enter the sea for swimming, disregarding warnings from lifeguards who had declared the beach unsafe due to rough weather conditions.
According to police reports, when tourist police on duty intervened to prevent the tourists from entering the hazardous waters, one of the accused turned violent.
