Goa, Sept. 9 -- In a positive step towards resolving Goa's long-pending waste management concerns, at least five companies participated in the pre-bid meeting for the proposed Bainguinim solid waste processing plant, the Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) has confirmed.
"These five could definitely bid for the proposal. Besides, some other companies can also come and bid," a GWMC official familiar with the meeting said.
The GWMC had floated a Request for Qualification (RFQ) last month, inviting bidders to design, finance, build, operate and maintain a 100-tonne-per-day (TPD) waste processing facility at Bainguinim for a concession period of 15 years.
