Goa, April 21 -- At least five people have died in rain-related incidents across the Jammu region over the past two days, as relentless torrential rains triggered widespread landslides and flash floods. Ramban district has been particularly devastated, with multiple homes destroyed and the crucial Jammu-Srinagar highway (NH44) completely blocked.
In Ramban's Bagna village, a massive landslide claimed three lives after several houses were swept away. Around 30 homes have been reported destroyed, vehicles submerged, and critical transport routes cut off due to the adverse weather. Rescue operations are currently underway, with joint teams from the police, SDRF, Army, local volunteers, and NGOs working around the clock.
