Goa, Oct. 26 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has ordered the suspension of the Civil Surgeon and other health officials following reports that five children contracted HIV after being transfused with infected blood at Sadar Hospital in West Singhbhum district.
The issue came to light when family members of one of the affected children filed a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner and the state government. In response, CM Soren announced on social media platform X that the state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to each affected family, along with free treatment for the children.
