Goa, June 20 -- Colva Police have registered an FIR against Liyakat Ali Shaikh and Conceico Rodrigues for allegedly organizing an illegal bullfight in an open field at Betalbatim, in violation of animal cruelty laws.

According to police sources, the accused are suspected of conducting the event without permission, drawing public spectators and subjecting the animals to cruelty. The incident has sparked concern among animal welfare activists and locals alike.

A case has been filed under relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Indian Penal Code, and a detailed investigation is currently underway.
