India, Feb. 16 -- Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Goel has clarified that voters will be able to confirm whether their names are officially included in the electoral roll only after the final list is published on February 21.

He said the process of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has been completed, during which more than 2.2 lakh notices were issued to verify voter details across the state. All hearings related to these notices have now concluded.

As a result of the verification exercise, over one lakh names have been deleted from the draft electoral roll. These include voters who have shifted residence, were untraceable, found to be deceased, or were already enrolled in electoral rolls elsewhere.
