Goa, Nov. 3 -- A Field Day-cum-Demonstration Programme showcasing the improved rice variety 'Sahyadri Kempumukthi' was held at Saligao, Bardez, introducing Goan farmers to a high-yielding and disease-resistant paddy option.
The event was jointly organised by the Seed Unit of Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga, and the Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Goa (ATMA) - North Goa Zonal Agriculture Office, Bardez, Mapusa.
The programme aimed to familiarise local farmers with the newly developed Sahyadri Kempumukthi variety, which has shown excellent performance in yield and resistance to major paddy diseases.
