Goa, April 2 -- In a special surveillance drive, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) inspected 20 eateries in the Anjuna-Vagator area, leading to the closure of nine establishments for failing to meet hygiene standards. Four of these outlets were also found to be operating without the necessary FDA license.

Among the eateries shut down were a popular Rajasthani restaurant, a well-known local Goan food joint, and several cafes. The closures were enforced after the FDA discovered unhygienic conditions and violations of safety norms during the inspections.
