In a series of coordinated raids, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has destroyed misbranded ice candies worth Rs 65,000 and shut down multiple eateries across Goa for flouting hygiene and labelling norms.

On Thursday night, FDA officials inspected 13 premises across Mapusa Housing Board, Tar Bridge and Khorlim. The team, led by Director Shweta Dessai and comprising officials Richard Noronha, Rajaram Patil, Shailesh Shenvi, Safia Khan, Sneha Gaude, Sujata Shetgaonkar, Amit Mandrekar, and Lenin de Sa, also collected banana samples from the Mapusa Yard for testing.
