Goa, July 30 -- In a surprise surveillance drive conducted near Tivim Railway Station, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) inspected 14 food establishments, including restaurants, tea stalls, liquor wholesale outlets, and dry fruit shops. The inspection revealed serious lapses in hygiene at several units.

Four establishments were ordered to immediately cease operations due to unhygienic conditions, while others were served improvement notices to rectify deficiencies. One unit, which had been previously inspected, was fined Rs.5,000 under Section 69 for non-compliance.
