Goa, Dec. 28 -- A fatal road accident at the Varkhand-Ponda junction has once again raised serious questions about traffic safety and enforcement on Goa's roads. A dumper truck reportedly hit a family of three who were travelling together, killing the woman on the spot and leaving her husband and minor son with serious injuries. They were rushed to hospital for treatment.
The incident sparked anger among local residents, who gathered at the junction and staged a protest, alleging a delay in police response despite an outpost being located nearby.
